In the heart of the Eixample
The Eixample district is without a doubt one of Barcelona’s most emblematic and characteristic neighborhoods. It was laid out by Ildefons Cerdà and developed in the middle of the 19th century when it became clear that the Catalonian capital needed to expand beyond its medieval city walls.
The personality of Barcelona is intrinsically tied to the Eixample, centered around its main thoroughfare, Paseo de Gracia, and the obvious charm of its surrounding streets. The area was the stomping ground of the Catalonian bourgeoisie who progressively transformed it into the heart of Barcelona’s Modernista route. Today, with Rambla Catalunya, the Paseo de Gràcia is one of the major arteries of the ever-popular Barcelona Shopping Line.
This central location puts Hotel Granvía within easy walking distance to Barcelona’s major points of interest.
